Requirement for Education Visa

1. Original Passport with at least six months validity and available visa pages. (Non-American passport need to provide Green Card copy or Document showing legal status in the U.S.)
2. Duly filled one Education Visa application form with two photos taken within the past six months. The "visa form" and "work history" must be filled completely.
3. The recommendation from the respective University/ University of Foreign Languages in the event of Schooling.
4. The recommendation from the respective schools in the event of lecturing at the schools under the Ministry of Education.
5. Direct invitation from the Ministry, the Universities or Schools in Myanmar mentioning the duration of stay.
6. Payment can be payable to “Consulate-General of Myanmar” in Cashier's Check or money order only. Payment arranged through Cash/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Personal Check is not accepted.
7. Prepaid Self-Address Return Envelope.
   (For those who apply through courier services can use FedEx, UPS or USPS with Tracking Number. Consulate-General of Myanmar assumes not responsible for any delay or loss of mail or documents while under the custody of courier services. The applicants shall not reuse the tracking numbers of all used and submitted envelopes.)
8. Incomplete applications will be rejected at the counter. Incomplete applications through courier services will be sent back to its original destination.

 
Visa Fees

Visa Information

• The stay for Education Visa is 90 days, which is extendable by submitting concrete evidence.
• The validity of the Education Visa is 3 months from the date of issue, which cannot be renewed or refunded. Consulate General of Myanmar will issue visa for completed application as soon as received it.
• Multiple Journey Entry Education Visa validity varies from minimum 3 months to maximum 1 year from the date of issue. The validity of the Education Visa (Multiple Entry) is one year, which is extendable. Multiple stays and entries are permitted.
• Application of Multiple Journey Entry Education Visa is considered and issued on a case by case basis at the discretion of the Visa Officer. However, First time visitors for Education purpose are not eligible to apply Education Visa (Multiple Entry).

Photography Guide

• The photograph must have been taken within the last six months
• The photograph should be taken in color and must be with a white background.
• Side or angled views are Not accepted.
• Photo Size: 35 mm x 45 mm or standard photo of 2 in x 2 in
• Photo Appearance: The photograph must be a full-face view in which the visa applicant is facing the camera directly.
• Digital Photos: Digitally reproduced photographs must be reproduced without discernible pixels or dot patterns.
• Photocopied photographs are NOT accepted.
