Requirement for Journalist Visa
Original Passport with at least six month validity and available visa pages. (Non-American passport need to provide Green Card copy or Document showing legal status in the U.S.)
Duly filled one Journalist Visa application form with two photos taken within the past six months. The “Visa Form” and “Work History Form” must be filled completely.
An invitation letter from Myanmar local media recognized by Myanmar concerned authorities, by expressing purpose of the visit, applicant's business information, details trip plan in Myanmar, duration and address in Myanmar. (or) An invitation letter from the contact organization recognized by Myanmar concerned authorities, expressing purpose of the visit, applicant's business information, details trip plan in Myanmar and duration of the stay in Myanmar. A copy of valid registration certificate of local media/ organization issued by Myanmar concerned authorities is also required in this regard.
Guarantee letter from the applicant from host person or organization or local media by expressing their detailed information.
Recommendation letter from the employing media expressing applicant responsibility, purpose of visit, length of stay and contact person and address in Myanmar.
A copy of its valid registration certificate of contact Myanmar local media or organization according to Myanmar Rules and Regulations.
Copy of Flight Schedule/ Itinerary.
Payment of USD 40 (US$ Forty only) per applicant for Journalist visa fees can be made payable to “Consulate-General of Myanmar” in Cashier's Check or money order only. Payment arranged through Cash/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Personal Check is not accepted.
Prepaid Self-Address Return Envelope. (For those who apply through courier services can use FedEx, UPS or USPS with Tracking Number. Consulate-General of Myanmar assumes not responsible for any delay or loss of mail or documents while under the custody of courier services. The applicants shall not reuse the tracking numbers of all used and submitted envelopes.)
Incomplete applications will be rejected at the counter. Incomplete applications through courier service will be sent back to its original destination.
Visa Information
The stay for Journalist Visa is 28 days or according to the approval, which is not entitled to extend.
The validity of the Journalist Visa (Single Entry) is 3 months from the date of issue, which cannot be renewed or refunded. Consulate-General of Myanmar will issue visa for complete application as soon as receive it. Consulate-General of Myanmar will not take any responsible for too early and too late applications.

The photograph must have been taken within the last six months
The photograph should be taken in color with the white background. Side or angled views are Not accepted.
Photo Size: 35 mm x 45 mm or standard photo of 2 in x 2 in
Photo Appearance: The photograph must be a full-face view in which the visa applicant is facing the camera directly.
Digital Photos: Digitally reproduced photographs must be reproduced without discernible pixels or dot patterns.
