Myanmar delegation rejects politically motivated resolution co-sponsored by OIC and EU at the Third Committee of the 75th UN General Assembly

On 18 November 2020, at its 13th Meeting, the Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural) of the 75th UN General Assembly took action on OIC and EU co-sponsored country-specific resolution against Myanmar.
Myanmar delegation called for the vote regarding the draft resolution on Myanmar and voted against the politically motivated resolution.
The Permanent Representative made a general statement before the action was taken and responded to the outcome after the voting.
In his general statement, the Permanent Representative pointed out that the draft resolution is one-sided and barely reflected the Government's relentless efforts and initiatives for addressing the challenges, laying a firm foundation for lasting peace and prosperity, and building a democratic federal union. He also pointed out that the well-proven atrocities committed by ARSA against local ethnic communities and the destructive activities committed by ARSA and AA were conveniently ignored in the draft resolution.
He stressed that the people of Myanmar fully understand the interrelated nature of peace, socio-economic development, and democracy. He further emphasized that the people are resilient, determined, and solidly united behind State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's leadership in the journey towards a society where democratic values will become a norm.
In his statement after the voting, the Permanent Representative thanked the countries who stood firmly on principle and demonstrated their courage against the power of block voting.
Regarding the adoption of the draft resolution, the Permanent Representative stated that the adoption of the discriminatory draft resolution demonstrates the failure to uphold the principle of sovereign equality of nations, undermining impartiality and fairness, and application of double standards and exceptionalism and selectivity in addressing the humanitarian and human rights issues.
He strongly rejected the dubious, ill-intentioned, selective, and politically motivated resolution.
He reiterated that as the people of Myanmar expressed their desire through the ballots at the recent general elections, the Government would continue making changes towards a democratic federal union.

ယင်းအဆိုမူကြမ်းအား မဲခွဲဆုံးဖြတ်ရန် မြန်မာကိုယ်စားလှယ်အဖွဲ့က တောင်းဆိုခဲ့ပြီး နိုင်ငံရေးအရ ဖိအားပေးသည့် ယင်းအဆိုမူကြမ်းအပေါ် ကန့်ကွက်မဲပေးခဲ့သည်။
ကုလသမဂ္ဂဆိုင်ရာ မြန်မာအမြဲတမ်းကိုယ်စားလှယ်က အဆိုမူကြမ်း အရေးယူ ဆောင်ရွက်ခြင်းမပြုမီ အထွေထွေမိန့်ခွန်းနှင့် မဲခွဲဆုံးဖြတ်ပြီးနောက် မဲရလဒ်အပေါ် တုံ့ပြန်သည့်မိန့်ခွန်းများ ပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။
အထွေထွေမိန့်ခွန်းတွင် အမြဲတမ်းကိုယ်စားလှယ်က အဆိုမူကြမ်း၏ တစ်ဖက်သတ် ဆန်မှုနှင့် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအစိုးရအနေဖြင့် ငြိမ်းချမ်းသာယာဝပြောသည့် ဒီမိုကရေစီဖယ်ဒရယ် ပြည်ထောင်စု တည်ဆောက်နိုင်ရေးကြိုးပမ်းမှုများ၊ တွေ့ကြုံနေရသည့် စိန်ခေါ်မှုများကို ကြိုးပမ်းဖြေရှင်း ဆောင်ရွက်နေမှုများကို အပြည့်အဝ ထင်ဟပ်ထားခြင်းမရှိသည့် အချက်များ၊ သက်သေအထောက်အထား အပြည့်အစုံရှိသည့် ARSA ၏ ရက်စက်သည့် ကျူးလွန်မှုများ၊ AA နှင့် ARSA တို့၏ အဖျက်လုပ်ရပ်များကို ဖော်ပြခြင်းမပြုဘဲ လုံးဝလျစ်လျူရှုထားသည့် အချက်များကို ထောက်ပြခဲ့ပါသည်။
အမြဲတမ်းကိုယ်စားလှယ်က မြန်မာပြည်သူများအနေဖြင့် ငြိမ်းချမ်းရေး၊ လူမှုစီးပွား ဖွံ့ဖြိုးတိုးတက်ရေးနှင့် ဒီမိုကရေစီ ထွန်းကားရေးတို့မှာ အချင်းချင်းချိတ်ဆက်နေသည့် သဘာဝကို ကောင်းစွာသိရှိနားလည်ကြောင်း၊ မြန်မာပြည်သူများမှာ ဆုံးဖြတ်ချက် ခိုင်မာ ပြတ်သားပြီး ခံနိုင်ရည်ရှိသူများဖြစ်ကြောင်းနှင့် နိုင်ငံတော်၏အတိုင်ပင်ခံပုဂ္ဂိုလ် ခေါင်းဆောင်မှုအောက်တွင် စည်းလုံးစွာဖြင့် ဒီမိုကရေစီအလေ့အကျင့်ကောင်းများ ထွန်းကားသည့် လူ့ဘောင်သစ်သို့ ဆက်လက်လျှောက်လှမ်းသွားမည်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း ကိုလည်း ထည့်သွင်းပြောကြားခဲ့ပါသည်။
မဲရလဒ်အပေါ် တုံ့ပြန်ပြောကြားရာ၌ အုပ်စုလိုက် မဲပေးသည့် အလေ့အထကို တန်ပြန်လျက် မှန်ကန်သည့် ရပ်တည်ချက်ကို ရဲဝံ့စွာဖော်ထုတ်ပြသခဲ့သည့် နိုင်ငံများအား ကျေးဇူးတင်ရှိကြောင်း၊ အဖွဲ့ဝင်နိုင်ငံများအကြား အခြေအနေများကို ခွဲခြား သတ်မှတ်သည့် ယခုကဲ့သို့သော အဆိုမူကြမ်းမျိုးကို အတည်ပြုခြင်းမှာ လူသားချင်း စာနာမှုနှင့် လူ့အခွင့်အရေးဆိုင်ရာ ကိစ္စရပ်များကိုင်တွယ်ဖြေရှင်းရာ၌ နိုင်ငံများ၏ အချုပ်အခြာအာဏာ တန်းတူညီမျှရှိရမည်ဆိုသည့် အချက်ကို စောင့်ထိန်းလိုက်နာမှု မရှိခြင်း၊ မမျှတမှုနှင့် သမာသမတ် မကျမှု၊ ပစ်မှတ်ထား ရွေးချယ်ဆောင်ရွက်မှုတို့ကို ဖော်ပြနေခြင်းပင် ဖြစ်ကြောင်း၊ သို့ဖြစ်၍ ရည်ရွယ်ချက်ရှိရှိ နိုင်ငံရေးအရ ဖိအားပေး ပစ်မှတ်ထားသည့် အဆိုမူကြမ်းကို မြန်မာကိုယ်စားလှယ်အဖွဲ့အနေဖြင့် ပြတ်ပြတ်သားသား ကန့်ကွက်ကြောင်းဖြင့် အမြဲတမ်းကိုယ်စားလှယ်က တုံ့ပြန်ခဲ့သည်။
မြန်မာပြည်သူများအနေဖြင့် ၎င်းတို့၏ ရည်မှန်းသည့်ဆန္ဒများကို ဆန္ဒမဲပြားများဖြင့် ထုတ်ဖော်ပြသခဲ့ပြီးဖြစ်သည့်အတွက် အစိုးရအနေဖြင့် ဒီမိုကရေစီဖယ်ဒရယ် ပြည်ထောင်စု ပေါ်ထွန်းလာရေးအတွက် ပြောင်းလဲမှုများ ဆက်လက်ပြုလုပ် သွားမည်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း ထပ်လောင်းပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။
