Requirement for Religious Visa
- Original Passport with at least six months validity and available visa pages. (Non-American passport need to provide Green Card copy or Document showing legal status in the U.S.)
- Duly filled one Religious Visa application form with two photos taken within the past six months. The “Visa Form” and “Work History Form” must be filled completely.
- Sponsorship Letter from the Myanmar Meditation Centre/ Monastery/ Venerable Sayadaw in Myanmar.
- Copy of Flight Schedule/ Itinerary.
- Payment can be made payable to “Consulate-General of Myanmar” in Cashier's Check or money order only. Payment arranged through Cash/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Personal Check is not accepted.
- Prepaid Self-Address Return Envelope.
(For those who apply through courier services can use FedEx, UPS or USPS with Tracking Number. Consulate-General of Myanmar assumes not responsible for any delay or loss of mail or documents while under the custody of courier services. The applicants shall not reuse the tracking numbers of all used and submitted envelopes.) - Incomplete applications will be rejected at the counter. Incomplete applications through courier services will be sent back to its original destination.

Visa Information
- The validity of Religious (single Entry) is three months from the date of issued, which cannot be renewed or refunded.
- The stay for the Religious visa is 70 days, which is extendable.
- Multiple Journey Entry Religious Visa validity varies from Minimum 3months to maximum 1 year from the date of issue. Duration/ period of stay in Myanmar restricted to ten weeks from the date of arrival.
Photography Guide
- The photograph must have been taken within the last six months
- The photograph should be taken in color and must be with a white or off-white background.
- Side or angled views are Not accepted.
- Photo Size: 35 mm x 45 mm or standard photo of 2 in x 2 in
- Photo Appearance: The photograph must be a full-face view in which the visa applicant is facing the camera directly.
- Digital Photos: Digitally reproduced photographs must be reproduced without discernible pixels or dot patterns.
- Photocopied photographs are NOT accepted.
