1. Hon. U Tin Yu, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Los Angeles received Mr. Beland I. Haung, Partnership Specialist at the Los Angeles Regional Census Center and Dr. Kevin K. Win from the Global Health Force om 1-7-2020 at (14:00) p.m. at the Myanmar Consulate General.
2. During the meeting, Mr. Beland I. Haung shared that the period of the 2020 U.S. Census has been extended until 31-10-2020 and further explained the details related to the U.S. Decennial Census. He also requested the Myanmar Consulate General in Los Angeles to vigorously encourage the complete participation of the Myanmar Community in U.S. Census, and to contact them for necessary assistance whenever needed.
3. Therefore, Consul General U Tin Yu shared the information with the representatives that the Consulate General has been encouraging its constituencies to cooperatively participate in the 2020 U.S. Census to bring about opportunities to achieve a Minority Status, and stated the Consulate General's attempt to meet with the leaders of the Myanmar Community in the southern California region to discuss about Myanmar Community's participation in the U.S. Census, and yet the temporary suspension of all such arrangements due the COVID-19 related restrictions on social gatherings. Afterwards, the Consul General conveyed his prospect to re-arrange the initial programs or conduct virtual meetings with the leaders depending on the developments of COVID-19, and presented the representatives “Census Info” brochures printed by the Network of Myanmar American Association in Burmese.

Haung နှင့် Global Health Force မှ Dr. Kevin K. Win တို့အား မြန်မာကောင်စစ်ဝန်ချုပ်ရုံး ဧည့်ခန်းမ၌ လက်ခံတွေ့ဆုံခဲ့ရာ Mr. Beland I. Haung က အမေရိကန်အစိုးရက ကိုဗစ်-၁၉ အခြေ အနေများကြောင့် သန်းခေါင်စာရင်းကောက်ယူမည့်ကာလကို ၃၁-၁၀-၂၀၂၀ ရက်နေ့အထိ သက်တမ်း တိုးမြှင့်ခဲ့ကြောင်းနှင့် အခြားဆက်စပ်အချက်အလက်များကို ရှင်းလင်းပြောကြားခဲ့ပြီး မြန်မာကောင်စစ် ဝန်ချုပ်ရုံးအနေဖြင့် မြန်မာအသိုက်အဝန်းအား 2020 U.S. Census တွင် အပြည့်အဝ တက်ကြွစွာ ပါဝင် ဖြည့်စွက်နိုင်ရေးကို အလေးထားတိုက်တွန်းနှိုးဆော်ပေးပါရန် ဆွေးနွေးခဲ့ပါသည်။
၂။ မြန်မာကောင်စစ်ဝန်ချုပ် ဦးတင်ယုကလည်း မိမိ၏ ကောင်စစ်နယ်မြေများအတွင်းရှိ မြန်မာ အသိုက်အဝန်းများအား Minority Status ရရှိရေးအခွင့်အလမ်းတစ်ရပ်အဖြစ် 2020 U.S. Census တွင် ပူးပေါင်းပါဝင်ရေးနှင့်ပတ်သက်၍ တိုက်တွန်းနှိုးဆော်လျက်ရှိပြီး မြန်မာအသိုက်အဝန်း၏ ခေါင်းဆောင် များနှင့်တွေ့ဆုံကာ ဆွေးနွေးရန် စီစဉ်ခဲ့သော်လည်း ကိုဗစ်-၁၉ ကပ်ရောဂါအခြေအနေများကြောင့် ခေတ္တရပ်ဆိုင်းခဲ့ရကြောင်း၊ သို့သော် မြန်မာအသိုက်အဝန်းအနေဖြင့် အမေရိကန်ပြည်ထောင်စု၏ သန်းခေါင်စာရင်းတွင် ပါဝင်ဖြည့်စွက်ခြင်းအားဖြင့် ရေရှည်အကျိုးဖြစ်ထွန်းမည်ဖြစ်သောကြောင့် သက်ဆိုင်ရာခေါင်းဆောင်များနှင့် ထပ်မံတွေ့ဆုံ၍သော်လည်းကောင်း၊ Virtual Meeting များ ပြုလုပ် ခြင်းဖြင့်သော်လည်းကောင်း တိုက်တွန်းနှိုးဆော်မှုများကို အခါအားလျော်စွာ လုပ်ဆောင်သွားမည်ဖြစ် ကြောင်း ပြောကြားခဲ့ပြီး Network of Myanmar American Association မှ မြန်မာဘာသာဖြင့် ပြုစုထားသည့် “သန်းခေါင်စာရင်းဆိုင်ရာသိမှတ်စရာ” လက်ကမ်းစာစောင်ကို ကိုယ်စားလှယ်များအား မျှဝေခဲ့ပါသည်။
